Outstanding little car...lots of car for the $$!!
Monday, November 01, 2021
While the car is brand new, so far....I'm very, very pleased with my purchase. This is such an incredibly refined and smooth little car. The fuel economy is going be far better than I expected, and I expected excellent economy.

2021 VW Jetta SEL
Sunday, March 07, 2021
Purchase a new Jetta SEL in February 2021. This is my second Jetta. My first Jetta was S trim (manual) 2017 but gave that to my son a week after I purchased it. This year I need a new car to replace my old car. I didn’t want a SUV. Sedans are cheaper to own and maintain. The things I love about this 2021 Jetta SEL: It has a great powerful engine (1.4L turbo) and rides smooth. It uses regular gas. So far, I have average 36 mpg and I commute 50 miles a day to and from work. The JETTA GLI would be better since it has the 2.0L Turbo and rear independent suspension but the price tag is way up there. The moonroof is nice and adds that luxury feel. The digital cockpit looks cool and actually functions well. The power seats and lumbar support is a plus. Heat seats and steering wheel is great and “a must have” in Colorado. Rear heat seat is nice too. Huge truck space. I almost purchased the Jetta SEL Premium but couldn’t justify the extra $$$ for navigation; memory power seats, fog lights, and extra speakers. I like the Sedan as it looks good but would much prefer the wagon version which they don’t sell in USA. Things I dislike about the Jetta SEL: the radio sometimes does not work. Adaptive cruise control occasionally stops working. But I must say when it does work – it works well in stop and go traffic. This is the main reason for getting the SEL over the SE or R-Line trim. The auto stop/start engine feature is annoying – The engine will turn itself off at the least expected moment when I’m trying to maneuver into a parking spot. However, I don’t mind it turning off when shifting gear into park or waiting at stop light. One big missing Feature this car doesn’t have is “Auto Hold!” My other cars have it but this one does not. Auto Hold is great for when you come to stop light and not have to press the brake pedal the whole time you’re stopped. And… the “Lane Assist,” only warns you if you go off lane by vibrating the steering wheel or stiffen up the steering wheel if try to change lanes without using your turn signal. But really it does not actually correct your position by auto steering the car back into the center of the lane. I was expecting “Lane Assist to actually keep the car in the center of the lane by auto correcting itself. This is a huge disappointment in VW when other manufactures offer better driver assistances. If I had known this at the time of purchase then I might have considered another car. VW gives you 5 years free “Car Net” access but then after that you have to pay a prescription but I think it should be free for life of owning the vehicle. And another thing is that the SEL trim does not have fog light! I don’t use it much in my other car but when it’s snowing or foggy outside then it would be nice to have it. Overall; I must say this car is a good purchase for your money.

Still love this car
Sunday, October 09, 2022
I love the gas mileage 35mpg, very important these days and still have performance with the turbo. There’s something about an German engineered car. Not one service problem, very reliable. Like the looks, had it more than 2 years and still want to keep it. Not normal for me.
