A truly exellent car without breaking the bank!
Saturday, November 07, 2020
I've owned a couple dozen good to great cars, including a couple of $100k Jaguar sedans. While this car is not as plush and gorgeous as the Jags or as fast, it is adequately quick and fast for real world driving, and my Limited is very attractive inside and out on its own merits. In every other respect it is a state of the art gasoline sedan, imo, with very good ride, handling, and a VERY quiet interior. Easy to use controls, roomy interior, very comfortable seating all around. A very smooth car to drive. After a long drive fatigue is as low as anything I've driven. I've gotten 42 mpg avg in 5k miles, which is truly remarkable for a car of this size and a heavy footed driver. BTW, I love the JBL audio system. Not as bass-y as some, but excellent features and clarity. I've not owned a Toyota before, but this car, its design and execution shows they are world class carmakers. FWIW, this car is built in Georgetown, Kentucky on the same line as the Lexus ES300, from 90% US parts. With Toyota's legendary reliability I look forward to a long relationship with this lovely car.

WOW

I thought that my previous vehicle was good, but this Avalon is amazing! I own the Avalon Hybrid Limited and the ride is magnificent. If I wasn't already a fan of all of the features and the styling, the ride alone would have sold me on this vehicle.

My first Toyota and my first Hybrid

Toyota says this car should get 43 mpg. We have kept it in the ECO mode and without any resets are getting 43.9. We have a Limited with all the bells and whistles. The car handles well and gives a comfortable ride. The car and trunk are spacious. Most manufactures give up trunk space for the hybrid battery. This car doesn't, the battery is under the rear seat and the gas tank is smaller than the non hybrid. The range on this car is > 500 miles. The only feature that this car doesn't have is available multi contour (massage) seats. All of the tech features work well but I wish the lane keeping was a little more aggressive. Our car has the factory installed protection film. You can't tell that it is there but the protection that it offers will be appreciated over the car's lifetime. This car has a ridge on the BSW tires that is designed to protect the wheels against curb damage. We are very pleased with this car.
