It has been a real joy to own this car!! In the last 2 years (the time that I have been the owner of it), I have only had to fix the back brakes & change the oil!!

Fun to drive, great mpg, safe, comfy, reliable

Bought this new for my son, and I drove it for the first month or so while he was away. It's very fun to drive! Excellent handling, nimble and solid. Good steering feel. Corners well. Rides smooth over bumpy roads. Great in all weather, including snow, on and off pavement. 35+ mpg, always, even around town. For AWD that's amazing. It has great crash test ratings. It's an extremely comfortable and well-appointed vehicle for its price. Heated seats, for example, and they are comfy. And the cabin is soundproofed well. The hatchback squeaks now and then over bumps. But apart from that, there have been zero problems in this vehicle's life so far. I'd call that very reliable. And my son loves it.

Best car I ever owned

I have a WRX hatchback in blue and I put a cold air intake (AEM) and higher flow "louder rumble" aftermarket exhaust on it (Invidia). Then I bought a Cobb AP and had it Cobb dyno-tuned using California 91 octane. It has about 25% more torque across most of th rpm range now (quicker than a stock STi that year). I love everything about it except all the buzzes, creaks and rattles (I found them all myself and fixed them). It's "BMW quiet" now but I doubt most people would want or be able to do what I did. The WRX is not a car for Lexus, BMW, or Cadillac type folks. It's a lightweight (more rlly than street) type car but has soft enough suspension that it's half way between an Impreza and an STi. Newer one are likely much quieter and fewer rattles, etc.. The stiffer suspension does tend to "vibrate" some things a bit loose which likely causes the rattle later on. And I drive it pretty hard all the time. Obviously an Impreza would not likely be driven like I driven my hopped up WRX. The AWD and turbo combination is addictive. And the Impreza, with its AWD, is a hoot too even at slower speed with it being doer (more secure) in rain, snow and ice....even on dry pavement in corners. So it's close to my "dream car" and close enough that I'll e keeping it. I've had it 5 years and could sell it for what I bought it for. I hope this is helpful.
