Does not walk gently

11/16/2017

If you are looking for an exceptionally comfortable truck that can tote and tow this is certainly a great one to consider. I was sold primarily on the solid construction and sheer comfort. the interior materials feel high quality and are a pleasant step away from the constant plastic of other vehicles. I can easily fit 3 full sized adults in the back seat with no complaints. The seats offer a folding option that lets them disappear and a flat loading deck remains. This is great for cargo that needs some climate control. There is also plenty of storage including lockable storage in the cabin and in the bed. The infotainment is a disappointment that Im hoping Nissan will improve with simple software updates. For a vehicle of this price with an upgraded stereo this one feels like an afterthought and I should have been more critical of this on the lot before I bought it. The steering wheel controls seem dated and random. The power out of the engine is strong and it will move this beast quickly and confidently. The visibility is outstanding, and the mirrors are large. Fuel economy is in keeping with the sticker, but that isnt the reason to buy this vehicle.

Best hidden secret in the truck market

11/28/2020

I’ve owned a f150, Ram, and Tundra all in the past five years. The tundra was reliable but bounced up and down like a hobby horse on expansion concrete highways, also felt huge to drive and sucked to park . The f150 had a clumsy 10 speed that made it suck in city traffic, I also didn’t get anywhere near the advertised mpg . The ram was nice riding but has cylinder deactivation and other bs ways of getting CAFE credits. The titan is the perfect truck in my opinion. It drives like a truck from the 2000s with its non electric pump driven steering. Tracks down the highway smoothly and straight as an arrow. The engine is fantastic and the transmission is eager to move. I got a pro4x with all the bells and whistles from the platinum reserve. I love that Nissan allows you to get all the options whether you decide to go with platinum trim or off-road oriented pro 4x. The truck is well built and tight as a drum. The steering is heavy and I personally like that. The safety features are awesome compared to other manufacturers and I don’t find them obstructive in anyway. The seats are the best part. Buying lots of new vehicles over the past decade, one can’t help but notice how hard modern seats are . Not the titan, like sitting in your favorite lazy boy. Second best feature is the fender audio system, hands down best audio I’ve heard in a vehicle from the factory, and I had a Lexus with Mark levinson sound. The headlights with height adjustability for trailering are fantastic. I’m sure I’ve missed some things but so far I am loving this truck and couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not driving one of these to compare to the big three. Especially with a 5 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty.

2020 Titan SV 4x4 Best Deal By Far

09/21/2020

Nissan made some serious upgrades for 2020 which is what sold me on this particular truck. While the Titan is not the most glamorous in high trims compared to say the Ram, it's by far the best bang for the buck in lower trims. Toyota is the only other brand that gives you all the safety tech in lower trims just like Nissan... but the Tundra is old and will be replaced soon. Things that are great: technology is the best by far in this segment. the 9" screen is amazing and it comes with navigation plus Apple and Android capabilities. The safety shield with smart cruise control would cost almost $10,000 more in a domestic truck at this time. The ride is good, the seats are fantastic, and the the truck is super quiet at speed. The new 9 speed transmission does a great job overall. The truck is roomy for any person at any height... but it's not as enormous as the other brands... it really doesn't matter though. This truck fits in my 2 car garage with another car. Things that could be improved: The engine could benefit from some eco features to gain more mileage. Gas mileage is ok but not great. In town they all suck, but on the HWY I see about 20 mpg going 75 mph. The upper door trim is hard plastic. It doesn't bother me, but I can see that it might bother some people since that is where you place your elbow quite often. It would be nice to have daytime running lights in the trim. However, for $20 I added my own which I connected right to the battery via a switch on the dash. Lastly, the steering is a bit heavy at slow speeds. It can get annoying but it's not a deal breaker. Overall, this truck is a great truck, built in America, and solid as a rock. It also happens to be the least expensive of the bunch with all the discounts. Can't beat it. And if you tow more than 10,000 Lbs regularly then you should probably look for a heavy duty truck anyway.
