Luxurious ride with power to spare

08/16/2021

We looked for SUV's for some time, narrowing it down to an Acura RDX or GLC. The Mercedes is more posh and drives solid and refined. The Honda/Acura vehicles are super-competent, for sure, but they feel ordinary compared to the Mercedes. The GLC was about $5,000 more, but felt like you were getting more, so the value to me was the same. I enjoy the steering assist (which the RDX also has), the Distronic speed control, and the lane assist on long trips. Just another step toward autonomous vehicles. It does shout at you if you keep your hands off the wheel for an extended period, to keep you engaged while driving, but the temptation is there. The Speed Limit Assist is pesky, however, as it reads the speed limit sign and matches your cruise control to that speed as a maximum speed. In my case, it sometime mistakes the 80 mph signs (I live in Utah) with 60 mph signs and suddenly decelerates, scaring the driver, passengers, and nearby drivers. There's probably a fix for that (besides turning off the feature). We have the ambient lighting package, which is fun to use. My wife and I love the car and hope to keep it for a long time.

Upscale car that oozes luxury

10/17/2021

Car that screams luxury on the inside. On the outside I feel a bmw looks nicer. On the inside there is no competition. To drive it’s comparable to both Audi and bmw in its class. I do occasionally find steering vibrations when I go over pot holes at high speeds. Infotainment is archiac when compared to its rivals from 2018
