Chrysler Sebring
Through 2010, Chrysler's lineup of mid-size cars was called Sebring, named after a racetrack in Florida. At various times the Chrysler Sebring was a two-door coupe, two-door convertible, and a four-door sedan. Chrysler redesigned the Sebring coupe and convertible models for the 2001 model year and added the Sebring sedan to the lineup. The convertible and sedan shared a platform and powertrains, while the coupe remained a heavily reworked version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Sebring coupe was discontinued after the 2005 model year. A 2007 redesign saw the return of the Sebring convertible and sedan to the market. However, when Chrysler refreshed the cars for the 2011 model year, it dropped the Sebring name in favor of using Chrysler 200 in anticipation of a product strategy realignment that would use numerical designations for a lineup of small, mid-size, and large cars.
