“🚨 Buyers Beware: My experience with Toyota of Bowie has been nothing short of frustrating, and I want to warn others before they go through the same. Updated Review – Toyota of Bowie Update to my original review: I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Toyota of Bowie regarding the Infiniti I purchased from them in May 2025. Within a short time of receiving my vehicle back from Toyota of Bowie (after they had my vehicle for about 2 months) the check engine light came on. A diagnostic confirmed it was the same catalytic converter issue I had voiced concerns about at the time of purchase. I have tried to work with the dealership, but there has been little accountability and no effective resolution. I was sold a car with a known mechanical problem, and now I am facing costly repairs for an issue that should have been addressed prior to the sale. I am a RN and I need reliable transportation to be able to get back and forth to work. If Toyota of Bowie does not resolve this matter immediately, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint with the Maryland Attorney General’s Office and the Motor Vehicle Administration’s Inspection Division so they can proceed with my case. A dealership’s integrity is tested after the sale, and in this case, Toyota of Bowie has failed to stand behind its customer. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business here to proceed with caution and verify every detail before signing. ————————————————————————————— *** Original review***** Disappointed and Concerned About Transparency and Service Integrity I recently purchased a 2017 Infiniti QX30 from Toyota of Bowie, and unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating and disappointing from the moment I drove off the lot. Right after purchase, the check engine light came on, along with a notification that the vehicle was overdue for an oil change. I contacted the dealership immediately and was told it was likely a loose gas cap — but the light remained on. A diagnostic scan from an independent shop confirmed it was a catalytic converter issue. When I brought this to the dealership’s attention, they took the car back and kept it for nearly two months. When I finally received the car back, dashboard alerts were still active, including a new one for brake pad wear. I contacted the dealership again and was told the issue was likely a sensor that wasn’t reset — but after taking it to a certified independent mechanic, I was informed that the brake pads and rotors were worn and had not been replaced. To make matters worse, I had to request service and inspection documentation for five days straight, only to receive a rushed and incomplete set of paperwork. One document even claims that the catalytic converter was replaced before I purchased the vehicle, which is not only inaccurate — it’s impossible. The timeline doesn’t match reality, and the paperwork raises serious concerns about transparency and possible falsification. I really wanted to resolve this matter professionally and directly, but the lack of accountability and unwillingness to provide timely, honest communication has left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. As of now, I am formally escalating this issue by filing complaints with the Maryland Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, the Maryland MVA Investigations Division, and the Better Business Bureau. I strongly urge anyone considering buying a used vehicle from Toyota of Bowie to proceed with caution, get everything in writing, and have the car independently inspected before purchasing.”
